Flag Football Game Preview: Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets

The Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines will square off against the Savannah Country Day Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Woodville-Tompkins 5.1, Savannah Country Day 8.4) so any points scored will be well earned.

Woodville-Tompkins is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Effingham County just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 8-6.

Even if they lost, Woodville-Tompkins' defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Aniya Baird-Turner was especially locked on to Effingham County's QB and sacked her twice.

Meanwhile, Savannah Country Day fell victim to St. Vincent's and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 12-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints.

Woodville-Tompkins' defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Savannah Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Woodville-Tompkins was able to grind out a solid victory over Savannah Country Day when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 12-0. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
