Softball Recap: Aquinas Drops Highest Score of Season Against East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aquinas). They never let the East Dragons get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Monday.

Jocelyn Powell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Annabelle Davies was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaida Mohr-Roberts, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Aquinas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Aquinas' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-15. As for East, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Aquinas will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
