Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Eagles vs. Leetonia Bears

The Valley Christian Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Leetonia Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses apiece.

On Thursday, Valley Christian was beaten by Columbiana 78-13. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 789th, while the Clippers are ranked 218th).

Meanwhile, Leetonia played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 51-16 defeat at the hands of David Anderson. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 25-5.

Leetonia's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Valley Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Leetonia in their previous matchup on January 14th, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
