Football Recap: Aumaurieon Bailey Key Part of Team Effort in Hawks Win

Silverado posted their closest win since November 15, 2024 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Granite Hills Cougars 27-24. That's more bragging rights for the Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Silverado got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aumaurieon Bailey out in front who rushed for 116 yards and two scores. Bailey is becoming a predictor of the Hawks' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another receiver making a difference was Jayden Pauling, who picked up 105 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Despite the loss, Granite Hills still got an impressive performance from Aamir Sneed, who rushed for 136 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 105 yards and one touchdown.

Silverado has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Granite Hills, they dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Silverado will look to defend their home field on Friday against Ramona at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Bailey and Lorenzo Sims. Granite Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
