Basketball Game Preview: Zane Trace Pioneers vs. Piketon Redstreaks

Zane Trace hasn't had much luck against Piketon recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Zane Trace Pioneers will venture away from home to square off against the Piketon Redstreaks at 7:15 p.m. Piketon took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Zane Trace, who comes in off a win.

Zane Trace will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Southeastern, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Zane Trace snuck past Southeastern with a 38-34 victory on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Meanwhile, Piketon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 45-40 to Huntington. The Redstreaks have struggled against the Huntsmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Piketon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Zane Trace, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.

Zane Trace suffered a grim 55-30 defeat to Piketon in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Zane Trace avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
