Recap: Fulshear Chargers vs. Fort Bend Kempner Cougars
In what's become a running theme this season, the Fulshear Chargers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Bend Kempner 57-16 on the road. Given Fulshear's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Fort Bend Kempner is ranked 899th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Fulshear to victory were Sophia Semmler and Ruke Ogbevire. Semmler dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Ogbevire scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jada Morgan, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Fulshear is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-24.
Fulshear will be playing at home against Foster at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fulshear focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lamar Consolidated at 5:45 p.m. on February 6th.
