Softball Recap: Boone Grove's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Boone Grove dropped their record down to 14-11 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 12-0 to the Munster Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolves have suffered since May 5th.

As for Munster, they pushed their record up to 25-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Munster's part, they got a massive performance out of Caroline Wendlinger, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Biel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Boone Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 12-0 defeat against Highland on the 22nd. As for Munster, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Illiana Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.1, the Vikings 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
