Basketball Recap: South Park Takes a Loss

South Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Pikes Peak Christian Eagles and fell 77-22. The Burros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-13.

Pikes Peak Christian was led to victory by Eddie Harmon and Matthew Crocfer. Harmon dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten steals, while Crocfer went 8-for-18 on his way to 23 points and six steals. The match was Harmon's 14th in a row with at least 16 points. Abraham Souder also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

South Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Park will square off against Crested Butte at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pikes Peak Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Manzanola at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Pikes Peak Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
