Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Malad's 14th in Last 16 Outings

Malad won the last time they faced Wendell and things went their way on Friday too. The Dragons blew past the Trojans 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brycen Howe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Carter Blaisdell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Kyson Willie was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Malad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wendell only posted an OBP of .323.

Malad is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Wendell, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14-1.

As of now, neither Malad nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
