With a playoff win on the line, Lubbock-Cooper rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Memorial Mavericks, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won three in a row.

Lubbock-Cooper's offense was headlined by Maisen Daniel and Haley McCallick, who picked up 15 kills apiece. They got some help from Broox Lopez and her 42 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Lubbock-Cooper's victory bumped their record up to 24-12. As for Memorial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-8.
