Basketball Recap: American Takes a Loss

American kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 70-60 to the Independence 76ers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the 76ers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why American lost, don't look at Dylan Jawei Lee. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-13 en route to 16 points and eight boards. Shaun Mathew was another key player, shooting 42% from the field on his way to 11 points.

Independence has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

American has already played their next contest, a 73-44 victory against Harker on the 5th. Independence has also already played their next game (against Saratoga), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
