Baseball Recap: Mansfield's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

After losing to North Attleborough the last time they met, Mansfield decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hornets never let the Rocketeers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Luke Rogan was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Mansfield is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Rogan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Kucharski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Mansfield: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Darrian Sanders also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mansfield's record is now 10-8. As for North Attleborough, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Mansfield will take on Bishop Feehan at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Shamrocks will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Attleborough, they will challenge Foxborough at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
