Volleyball Recap: Fayetteville Bulldogs vs. Northside Grizzlies
On Thursday, Fayetteville faced Northside in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Fayetteville Bulldogs had just enough and edged the Northside Grizzlies out 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on five straight.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Fayetteville got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 28-30, 25-13, 15-25, 15-12.
Lily Moser was nothing short of spectacular: she had 18 digs.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamdyn Flemming, who had 11 digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Flemming a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Azalea Scott, who had 13 digs.
Fayetteville's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Northside, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 10-6-2.
Fayetteville will head out to challenge Bentonville West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northside, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 win vs. Springdale on the 30th.
