Volleyball Preview: Lynn Classical Rams vs. Chelsea Red Devils
Lynn Classical has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. After both having extra time off, they and the Chelsea Red Devils will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Lynn Classical earned a 3-1 victory over Malden.
Lynn Classical was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-8, 25-5, 25-13.
Lynn Classical can attribute much of their success to Caitlin Kelley, who had ten digs.
Meanwhile, Chelsea sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Revere on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Devils.
Chelsea wouldn't go down easily and took Revere into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 22-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-11.
Lynn Classical has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Chelsea, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-6.
Lynn Classical took their win against Chelsea in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lynn Classical since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
