Trenton and Branford are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Tigers will welcome the Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Trenton took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They strolled past Oak Hall with points to spare, taking the game 42-26.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Wyatt Vanlandingham and Alexzander Henry. Vanlandingham rushed for 217 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry while Henry rushed for 162 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries. Those 217 rushing yards gave Vanlandingham a new career-high.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Trenton proved: they limited Oak Hall to a paltry 0.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Zane Mcardle for the heroic effort on defense: he. Trenton didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.2.
Trenton's defense didn't let Aaron Akins, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Trent Patterson with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Branford). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-20 win over Interlachen. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Branford's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Trenton, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Trenton has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Branford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 148.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Trenton ended up a good deal behind Branford when the teams last played back in October of 2024, losing 34-20. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
