Basketball Recap: Lima Christian Comes Up Short

Lima Christian lost against Rochester Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lima Christian Saints fell to the Rochester Prep Tigers 54-48.

Despite the loss, Lima Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Marsh dropped a double-double with 34 points and 17 rebounds. The contest was Marsh's 15th in a row with at least 18 points. Sophy Britton was another key player, putting up three points along with five boards and five blocks.

Even though they lost, Lima Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 18 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Lima Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Rochester Prep, their record now sits at 6-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lima Christian will host Scio Central/Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rochester Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
