Baseball Recap: Jordan Has No Trouble Against Westside

While Jordan didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Westside Wolves with a sharp 8-1 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jack Turner looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit, allowed only an earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Braden Eckerman was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games. Westside's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3.

Coming up, Jordan will venture away from home to challenge Fort Bend Travis at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westside, they will host Seguin at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
