Recap: DSST: Montview Knights vs. Far Northeast W Warriors
The DSST: Montview Knights entered their tilt with the Far Northeast W Warriors with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. DSST: Montview put the hurt on Far Northeast W with a sharp 70-50 win on Saturday. DSST: Montview has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Tara Majok, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Harun Hamma, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Far Northeast W still got an impressive performance from Devan Womley, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Womley posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Julian Griffin-Cobbs, who scored 13 points.
Even though they lost, Far Northeast W were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
DSST: Montview pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Far Northeast W, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DSST: Montview will challenge Bruce Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bruce Randolph comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Far Northeast W, they will head out on the road to face off against Denver West at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Denver West has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 329 points over their last five matchups.
