Football Game Preview: Carthage Comets vs. Indian River Wolves

The Carthage Comets will head out to take on the Indian River Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carthage's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Carthage's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past East Syracuse-Minoa to the tune of 34-0. Fans of the Comets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Indian River played against Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on Friday and won via forfeit.

The win made it two in a row for Indian River and bumps their season record up to 2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Carthage, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Carthage took a serious blow against Indian River when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 60-0. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
