Softball Recap: Wolfson's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Wolfson waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Stanton Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Wolfpack have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Devils, too.

Madison Saling was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Saling was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Wolfson got a big performance out of Hannah Roberts, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Dylan Hetrick was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Wolfson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.

Wolfson's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Stanton, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.

Looking ahead, Wolfson will take on Baldwin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Wolfpack's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Stanton will be paying especially close attention to Wolfson's game: after Wolfson faces off against Baldwin, they'll take on Stanton again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
