Volleyball Recap: West Craven Starts off Right with Win over Havelock

West Craven took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Havelock Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

West Craven got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 31-29, 25-12, 25-18.

Sophia Sutton paced West Craven's offense, picking up eight kills. Sutton got some help from Taylar Jarman and her 11 assists. Seryna Gaito controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Craven will face off against Kinston at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Havelock, they will square off against East Carteret at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
