Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Unity Christian's Tenth in Last 13 Outings

After losing to Quad Cities Christian the last time they met, Unity Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Unity Christian Knights took down the Quad Cities Christian Eagles 38-22 on Saturday.

Unity Christian was led to victory by Emily Merema and Isabella Middendorp. Merema went 5 for 10 on her way to 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Middendorp dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 boards. Unity Christian is 11-2 when Merema posts three or more steals, but 3-5 otherwise.

Quad Cities Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayda Kyer, who posted four points in addition to five boards and five steals. Kyer has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 20 times she's played.

Unity Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Quad Cities Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-17.

As of now, neither Unity Christian nor Quad Cities Christian have any future games scheduled.
