Football Game Preview: Smithson Valley Rangers vs. Angleton Wildcats

Smithson Valley is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Angleton is on a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Smithson Valley Rangers will take on the Angleton Wildcats at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Smithson Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Angleton likes a good challenge.

Smithson Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Flour Bluff 49-14. Considering the Rangers have won 11 games by more than 21 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Angleton had just enough and edged La Porte out 24-21 on Saturday.

Angleton's win came from a few key players Smithson Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jamarcus Shockley, who rushed for 126 yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.

Smithson Valley's record is now 12-2. As for Angleton, their record is now 13-1.
