Football Recap: Cross Comes Up Short

Cross extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-9. They took a blow against the Holly Hill Academy Raiders, falling 56-12. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-18 back in September.

As for Holly Hill Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 46.0 points this season.

Parker Kizer produced another solid effort rushing for 332 yards and five TDs on only ten carries, while also throwing for 62 yards and one touchdown. Those 62 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Holly Hill Academy also got a significant boost from Jayden Krier, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 91 yards.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cross is set to take on their familiar foe Palmetto Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Holly Hill Academy will face off against rival Jefferson Davis Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
