Softball Recap: Rogers Takes Down Issaquah in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Rogers rose to the challenge on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Issaquah Eagles 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Sierra Murray was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 24 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Murray wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madelyn Stanaway, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Rogers' win bumped their record up to 25-4. As for Issaquah, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 24-4 record.

Looking ahead, Rogers will take on Skyview at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 2, the Storm 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Issaquah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
