Volleyball Game Preview: Martinsville Artesians vs. Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots

The Martinsville Artesians will head out on the road to take on the Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Martinsville is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Martinsville came up short against Perry Meridian on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Perry Meridian scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Terre Haute North Vigo lost 3-0 to North Putnam on Monday.

Terre Haute North Vigo was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 25-18.

Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Everything went Martinsville's way against Terre Haute North Vigo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Martinsville made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Artesians since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
