Basketball Recap: Alexandria Comes Up Short

Alexandria and Madison Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Alexandria had to settle for second. They came up short against the Madison Academy Mustangs, falling 65-40. While losing is never fun, the Valley Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Mustangs are ranked 12th).

Alexandria's defeat dropped their record down to 12-18. As for Madison Academy, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 30-3.

As of now, neither Alexandria nor Madison Academy have any future games scheduled.
