Volleyball Recap: Escalon Has No Trouble Against Oakdale

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Big Valley Christian, Escalon was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Oakdale Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win.

Escalon was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-22, 28-26.

Carson Medina paced Escalon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Medina got some help from Ben Ferreira and his 19 assists. Ferreira was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

The victory got Escalon back to even at 5-5. As for Oakdale, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Looking ahead, Escalon will host Sierra at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oakdale, they will square off against Wheatland at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Oakdale is facing Wheatland at the right time seeing as Wheatland is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
