Basketball Game Preview: Red Bud Musketeers vs. Chester Yellowjackets

The Red Bud Musketeers will square off against the Chester Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-40, which was the final score in Red Bud's tilt against Waterloo on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Musketeers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 97th).

Meanwhile, Chester was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 45-40 to Carlyle. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Indians/Lady Indians recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Red Bud has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Chester, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-13.
