Softball Recap: Moses Lake Has No Trouble Against Sunnyside

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Moses Lake and Sunnyside meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Moses Lake put the hurt on Sunnyside with a sharp 23-7 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-5 on Friday.

Moses Lake got a massive performance out of Hayden Morris, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Morris continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lila Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Moses Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .684. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Moses Lake now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sunnyside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Moses Lake is taking a road trip to square off against Southridge at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sunnyside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wenatchee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
