Basketball Recap: Smethport Takes a Loss

Smethport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 50-35 to the Oswayo Valley Green Wave. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hubbers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-49 back in December of 2024.

Smethport's record now sits at 0-12. As for Oswayo Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-8 record this season.

Smethport wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-31 defeat against Galeton on the 24th. As for Oswayo Valley, they will face off against Coudersport at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
