Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Takes a Loss

Lafayette Jefferson saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the East Central Trojans.

Maya Layton paced Lafayette Jefferson's offense, picking up five kills. Layton were helped by Jaeleah Thorpe and Leiciana Cook, who contributed four assists each.

East Central can attribute much of their success to Grace Duncan, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Duncan has posted since back in October of 2024. Sadie Creek also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Lafayette Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for East Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Lafayette Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Southport on the 23rd. As for East Central, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against New Palestine on the 23rd.
