Volleyball Game Preview: Murtaugh Red Devils vs. Hagerman Pirates

The Murtaugh Red Devils will take on the Hagerman Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Murtaugh got the win against Lighthouse Christian by a conclusive 3-0.

Meanwhile, Hagerman made easy work of Raft River on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.

Murtaugh better focus on containing Addi Chizum and Payge Nyborg as the pair were huge in Hagerman's win. Chizum had 25 digs and four assists, while Nyborg had six digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Nyborg a new career-high.

Hagerman was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 18 consecutive contests.

Murtaugh's record is now 18-8. As for Hagerman, their record now sits at 22-4.
