Basketball Recap: LaMoille Comes Up Short

LaMoille played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Newark Norsemen 67-32. The Lions have struggled against the Norsemen recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, LaMoille had strong showings from Brayden Klein, who went 6-for-14 en route to 15 points, and Tyler Billhorn, who posted 12 points and eight boards. That was a full 46.9% of LaMoille's points, marking the third time in a row Klein has scored more than a third of the team's points.

Dylan Long continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Newark, going 7-for-13 from beyond the arc on his way to 40 points and five rebounds. Long's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Reggie Chapman, who put up seven points along with seven assists and five boards.

LaMoille's defeat dropped their record down to 7-24. As for Newark, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions take on the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Newark, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gardner-South Wilmington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
