Baseball Recap: Sidney Comes Up Short

Sidney had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-4 to make it six. They lost 16-6 to the Watford City Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-2 loss back in April.

As for Watford City, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-12 record. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12th (when they won 17-2).

For Watford City's part, Paco Baldenegro was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Baldenegro has become a key player for the Wolves: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-11 otherwise. Isaiah Leahy was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Sidney is taking a road trip to square off against Laurel at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Watford City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
