Softball Recap: Magee Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Magee and McLaurin meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Magee Trojans lost 25-10 to the McLaurin Tigers. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Kaylee Brown led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsyn Drake, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Magee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Magee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for McLaurin, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-4 record.

Magee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 19-1 loss against Mendenhall on the 3rd. As for McLaurin, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-4 victory against Raymond on the 3rd.
