Mt. Pulaski's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the El Paso-Gridley Titans a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Hilltoppers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Pulaski's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for El Paso-Gridley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-20.

Coming up, Mt. Pulaski will look to defend their home field on Friday against Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. The Hilltoppers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for El Paso-Gridley, they will face off against Heyworth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
