Football Game Preview: Quakertown Panthers vs. Upper Dublin Cardinals

Quakertown and Upper Dublin are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Quakertown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Council Rock North to the tune of 48-7 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.

Brady Martin had a dynamite game, throwing for 126 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 43 yards. What's more, he racked up 131.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kyler Roesener, who gained 108 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Quakertown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 280 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 91 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five games they've averaged 179.7.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Upper Dublin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past Harry S. Truman 45-7 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Upper Dublin's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Quakertown, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Quakertown couldn't quite finish off Upper Dublin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 37-34. Thankfully for the Panthers, Kevin Etkin (who threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time.
