Soccer Game Preview: Compton vs. Cabrillo

Compton hasn't had much luck against Cabrillo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tarbabes will face off against the Jaguars at 5:15 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Wednesday, Compton didn't have quite enough to beat Woodrow Wilson and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Compton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 923rd, while Woodrow Wilson are ranked 357th).

Meanwhile, Cabrillo fell victim to Lakewood and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 2-7-2. As for Cabrillo, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Compton suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Cabrillo in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Can the Tarbabes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
