Valor Academy will venture away from home to take on the Community Charter Titans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valor Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Valor Academy barely beat Valley Oaks CES the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Valor Academy put the hurt on Valley Oaks CES with a sharp 20-5 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for Valor Academy in their matchups with Valley Oaks CES: they've now won seven in a row.
Daniel Silva made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Valor Academy is undefeated when Silva posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Samuel Herrejon was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Garcia, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Valor Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Oaks CES only managed nine hits.
Meanwhile, Community Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Bert Corona Charter.
Jose Patlan was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Erick Trujillo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run.
Community Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Valor Academy, their record now sits at 7-5.
Valor Academy took their victory against Community Charter in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valor Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
