Preview: Days Creek vs. Prospect
Prospect will challenge Days Creek on the road at 4:00 PM on Friday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close game.
Last Friday, Prospect couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell to Butte Falls/Crater Lake 30-42.
Days Creek had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They were fully in charge, breezing past Crow 48-0. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (42) and coasted on those for the victory.
Days Creek's win lifted them to 1-0 while Prospect's loss dropped them down to 0-1. In their win, Days Creek relied heavily on junior Gerrit Wentland, who rushed for 66 yards and 1 touchdown; a key strategy for Prospect will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
