Softball Game Preview: Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs vs. Ballard Bombers

The Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs will head out to challenge the Ballard Bombers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Prairie City-Monroe beat Greene County 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won seven in a row.

Ballard not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since June 12, 2025 (when they won 10-0). Everything went their way against Boone as they made off with a 7-1 victory.

Prairie City-Monroe might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Ballard when the teams last played back in June of 2017. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
