Basketball Recap: Bethany Christian Comes Up Short

Bethany Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the DeMotte Christian Knights and fell 49-8. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Kendra Kern was Bethany Christian's leading scorer, having posted four points. Kern also led the team in rebounds with eight.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead DeMotte Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Bakker, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cassie Nanninga, who posted seven points and six steals.

Bethany Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for DeMotte Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Bethany Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-27 loss against Granger Christian on the 27th. As for DeMotte Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 45-25 win against Lakeland Christian Academy on the 28th.
