Baseball Game Preview: Haskell Haymakers vs. Porter Pirates

For the second straight game, Haskell will face off against Porter. The Haymakers will square off against the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Haskell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Haskell made easy work of Porter and carried off a 9-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Haymakers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Brady Neal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Jaxon Drain was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He has become a key player for Haskell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8 otherwise. Jacob Yocham was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

The victory got Haskell back to even at 8-8. As for Porter, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-13.
