Baseball Recap: Wheaton-Warrenville South Takes a Loss

Wheaton-Warrenville South fell victim to Wheaton North and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Drew Eger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wheaton-Warrenville South saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nico Olszewski, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Wheaton-Warrenville South's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Wheaton North, their record is now 10-12-1.

While Wheaton-Warrenville South had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
