Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Chapin Eagles

The Hillcrest Rams will face off against the Chapin Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hillcrest 3.5, Chapin 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Chapin is facing Hillcrest at the wrong time: Hillcrest suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rams have suffered against the Yellow Jackets since April 27, 2022.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Chapin and Lexington meet (seven straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. Chapin fell just short of Lexington by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Chapin's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4-1.
