Softball Recap: New Site Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shannon last Thursday, New Site came back down to earth. The Royals came up short against the Hamilton Lions on Tuesday, falling 14-3. The loss continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Tori Banegas was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh England, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

New Site's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Hamilton, they moved to 7-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While New Site had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
