Baseball Game Preview: Edgemont Panthers vs. Tuckahoe Tigers

The Edgemont Panthers will challenge the Tuckahoe Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Edgemont will be strutting in after a win while Tuckahoe will be coming in after a defeat.

Edgemont is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Mount Vernon on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Richard Fawcett, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Will Terrasi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Edgemont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Tuckahoe fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Valhalla on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tuckahoe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Brice, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. The Tigers are 4-1 when Brice posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

Tuckahoe's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Edgemont, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-12.
