Football Recap: Woods Cross Takes a Loss

Woods Cross and Orem squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Woods Cross had to settle for second. They were dealt a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.

Kaue Akana was a one-man wrecking crew For Orem. as he picked up 134 receiving yards and one score. That's the most receiving yards Akana has posted since back in October of 2024.

Woods Cross moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Orem, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Woods Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orem, they will challenge West at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' defense has only allowed 7.5 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
