Basketball Recap: Mary Help of Christians Academy Comes Up Short

Mary Help of Christians Academy suffered their biggest defeat since January 5th on Friday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Pompton Lakes Cardinals an easy 46-20 win. The Blue Jays lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 30-29 score last time.

Mary Help of Christians Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Pompton Lakes, the victory was the fifth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mary Help of Christians Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glen Rock at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Pompton Lakes and Pascack Hills will round out the year against one another at at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
